No. Physiotherapists are able to register your ACC claim directly without seeing a doctor.
An injury is covered by ACC if it was an accident, singular event or series of events in the past year. This includes sprains, strains, fractures and dislocations and concussions. There are some other special circumstances where ACC will cover your claim which can be discussed at your appointment or give us a call.
Yes. If your injury isn't covered by ACC, this will come under our private fees pricing. People come for advice, musculoskeletal movement analysis, ongoing niggles or pains and other conditions not caused by an 'injury'.
Your PhysioWorks physio is able to refer directly for Xray and Ultrasound scans. They can also refer you to a specialists or sports doctor who will conduct an assessment and send you for the relevant MRI scan if needed.
Wear clothes you are comfortable in. Please bring or wear shorts if you have a lower limb complaint as you will get the best diagnosis and treatment if we are able to access the area.
You will initially need to fill in an ACC form (if you need to make a claim) as well as your details. Your physiotherapist will then take a detailed history of your injury/pain, followed by an assessment. Your physiotherapist will then discuss your treatment options and complete your first treatment session.
